This position is responsible for identifying required project resources based on the scope of work. The Coordinator generates estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors, delegating to external purchasing agents when appropriate. Additionally, the role involves obtaining multiple bids from vendors and subcontractors and assisting in contract negotiations. Collaborating with the internal team and potential clients, the Coordinator aims to create the most competitive project proposals or bids. During periods of low estimator workload, they will support Project Managers by estimating Change Orders. Key ResponsibilitiesClient Relations:- Attend Pre-Bid Meetings to grasp the project's intent and ensure alignment with the Owner’s requirements. Assess possible demolition scopes that may affect existing structures and evaluate how current building systems will integrate with new projects.- Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify conflicts in Bid Documents and provide direction for accurate cost estimations that meet the Client’s electrical requirements.- Assist with lead follow-ups and referrals from field activities, tracking the status of submitted electrical proposals. Estimating:- Proficiently read and comprehend specifications and trade drawings to fully understand project electrical requirements.- Develop detailed itemized costs for projects utilizing Construction Systems’ breakdowns and software tools such as Accu-bid, Enterprise Software, and Live Count Plan Viewer.- Estimate the necessary equipment, human resources, and materials required for project completion.- Create quantitative counts for a Bill of Material to solicit quotes from Suppliers and Subcontractors regarding specified products and services.- Access Clients’ plan room websites to download revised bid documents when Addendums, Amendments, or Clarifications are posted.- Complete estimating tasks efficiently to meet client deadlines during high-pressure situations.- Utilize Bluebeam Revu 2016 to mark-up drawings and documents, providing detailed notes for the Architect/Engineer Team in RFI format or to inform Project Managers of the Estimator’s intent. - Support the development of the electrical scope letter to ensure accuracy and completeness.
