Qualifications

Required QualificationsJourneyperson Electrician designation or a minimum of 10 years in high-voltage construction. Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code and OSHA regulations pertinent to the Electrician role. A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.5-7 years of experience in the construction industry. Experience with medium to high-voltage substation construction. Familiarity with various construction disciplines, safety regulations, project scheduling, cost control, and engineering drawings is a significant advantage. Willingness to travel to construction sites as required.

About the job

As a pivotal member of our construction team, the Construction Superintendent will report directly to the Operations Manager. This role involves the management and supervision of all daily on-site construction activities, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, effectively, and within budgetary constraints. The Superintendent will lead the on-site crew and act as the primary liaison among the Project Manager, subcontractors, and clients.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee construction activities at the job site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, timelines, budgets, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of crew timesheets on a daily basis.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between the company and the client.
  • Lead by example in implementing and enforcing the company’s on-site safety policies and procedures, documenting and reporting all incidents to the Safety Manager.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to optimize resource utilization and meet project deadlines.
  • Uphold the quality of workmanship in accordance with design documents.
  • Mentor and motivate on-site crew members to foster a culture of safety and compliance with company policies.
  • Engage with the project manager and client to address and resolve all RFIs and COs.
  • Assist in internal and external audits and inspections.
  • Accountability for crew performance and adherence to safety standards.
  • Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of craft employees.
