About the job
As the on-site Contract Plant Resident Engineer, you will act as the primary quality liaison between the supplier and the OEM facility, ensuring smooth production operations while minimizing disruptions such as spills, stockouts, and line downtime.
Your role will involve leading on-site coordination and immediate response to supplier-related spills and material challenges, managing activities at the yard, dock, and line-side to ensure timely containment and effective communication.
You will support and coordinate containment, sorting, and rework activities to prevent nonconforming materials from affecting production processes.
Your responsibilities will include performing and overseeing on-site inspections, sorting, and testing activities (dimensional, material, and functional) as per OEM and customer specifications.
Implementing and communicating standardized inspection methods, work instructions, and temporary quality controls will be key to your success in supporting containment activities.
You will be responsible for verifying, documenting, and tracking breakpoint materials, ensuring proper identification, segregation, and quarantine of suspect, nonconforming, or legacy stock.
Additionally, you will provide 24/7 on-call support to address OEM quality concerns, production interruptions, and emergency containment needs as outlined in the contract.
