Join our dynamic team at Norit (UK) Limited as a Control Room Operator (CP2) based in Glasgow. We are a leading manufacturer in the activated carbon industry, utilizing advanced heavy industrial machinery. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in maximizing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE: FPQ, OSF, PRI & PYI) while adhering strictly to SHE compliance through precise process control and vigilant field monitoring. You will be responsible for proactively addressing any non-conformities in our processes or products.
A robust understanding of relevant compliance and quality standards (including SEPA, ISO9001, ISO14001, Halal, Kosher, and HACCP), as well as familiarity with our plant, processes, procedures, and work instructions, is essential for this role. You will collaborate closely with various onsite functions to ensure that all necessary data, information, and support for maintaining process control and compliance are effectively communicated and accurately reported. Furthermore, you will be tasked with reporting incidents, accidents, spillages, and environmental complaints in line with our established procedures. Please note that the position requires a rotation between day and night shifts.
Your responsibilities:
- Ensure safety standards and environmental compliance (SEPA and ISO14001) within the production plant and processes, while actively promoting safety among colleagues.
- Report any accidents, incidents, spillages, and environmental complaints promptly.
- In the event of an emergency, understand and implement the emergency response plan effectively.
- Monitor KPIs (OEE: FPQ, OSF, PRI & PYI) and quality compliance standards (ISO9001, Halal, Kosher, HACCP), optimizing processes within defined parameters to prevent or correct any non-conformities.
- Communicate any deviations from process or quality targets to the Shift Manager, implementing corrective actions as required and escalating to specialists when necessary.
- Conduct thorough in-field process monitoring, maintenance, and quality assessments, ensuring comprehensive control room inspections.
- Maintain accurate real-time logs and prepare compliance reports, aiding in problem investigations and shift handovers as per control plans and procedures.
- Identify and recommend improvements for plant reliability, performance, and output.
- Review and propose enhancements to work instructions, control plans, and operating procedures.
- Handle out-of-hours telephone calls, representing the company professionally and logging all details accurately.
