SGS is actively seeking a skilled Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Inspector / Engineer for a contract position lasting between 12 to 18 months. The selected candidate will be required to enter into an independent contractor agreement with SGS North America Inc.Key Responsibilities:Plan, organize, and facilitate all Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for project equipment, ensuring compliance with project specifications and stakeholder requirements. The ideal candidate should possess a robust electrical engineering background and extensive experience in not only coordinating but also witnessing and evaluating FATs, implementing necessary corrective actions to meet role expectations.Schedule and coordinate FATs with suppliers, project teams, and customer representatives.Conduct inspections of MV/HV Breakers, Voltage Transformers, Surge Arrestors, and related equipment.Ensure that all test procedures, documentation, and acceptance criteria are established prior to FAT.Enhance communication among suppliers, engineering teams, quality assurance, and customers during FAT activities.Track and document FAT outcomes, ensuring all punch-list items are logged and resolved.Disseminate certified FAT reports and test certificates to the project team for documentation purposes.Ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering drawings, and standards such as the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).Monitor and report on testing progress, quality metrics, and potential risks to project timelines.Oversee the execution of tests, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional and non-functional requirements.Document results and defects formally, raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and facilitate resolutions with the relevant functional teams.Evaluate testing methodologies, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Verify that final documentation has been completed and approved by the customer and the responsible engineering/project management personnel.
