Qualifications

Approximately 7 years of leadership experience in the video game industry: you are a creative leader with a vision for the future of gaming. Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Effective cross-discipline communication: you possess the know-how to communicate easily with all disciplines (programming, art, design, marketing, etc.). A collaborative and innovative mindset. The ability to consider technical and production feasibility when developing concepts. Mentorship: you are motivated to share your expertise to guide the next generation of creators. Self-sufficient in using presentation and design tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.). Knowledge of game engines (e.g., Unity or Unreal) and their limitations. Familiarity with project management software.

About the job

As the Creative Director at Ubisoft Montreal, you will be responsible for establishing and articulating the high-level vision that shapes the game we are developing. You will lead the overall creative direction, fostering a collaborative creative environment that inspires teams to generate the best ideas to support this vision.

Your role will ensure that all team efforts are aligned towards a common goal and shared vision. You will guarantee that every choice made during production reflects the essence of the game and brings its intended experience to life for players around the globe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define a clear and coherent creative vision for the game.
  • Collaborate closely with other leadership team members to develop their specific components of the vision and unify your concepts to connect all aspects of design, graphics, narrative, and technical elements.
  • Communicate and emphasize creative direction throughout production to guide teams.
  • Present the game vision to the editorial team and senior management, representing your team and the project to them.
  • Validate the consistency and quality of the game, ensuring creative alignment between the brand, experience, and strategy.
  • Review and discuss priorities, timelines, and production scope with the producer.
  • Travel locally and internationally to present the game, meet external partners, visit co-development studios, etc.
