Role overview

The Credit Controller is responsible for managing credit control processes to ensure financial accuracy and timely operations. This role plays a key part in supporting financial stability and maintaining strong relationships with both clients and internal teams.

Main responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly receivables targets and minimize bad debt exposure.
  • Regularly follow up with debtors through calls and emails.
  • Collaborate with sales Account Managers to resolve overdue and disputed accounts.
  • Conduct weekly reviews of account disputes, escalating issues to account managers and directors when necessary.
  • Manage accounts in liquidation, including communication with administrators.
  • Assess creditworthiness of new and existing customers, setting appropriate credit limits and payment terms.
  • Prepare monthly creditor status reports for the Finance Manager.
  • Assist the HR manager in Singapore with various HR-related tasks.

Reporting structure and location

  • Reports directly to the Finance Manager based in the Netherlands.
  • This position has no direct reports.
  • Located in Shanghai with a hybrid work arrangement.

Education and technical skills

  • MBO 4 or HBO level of work and thinking, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Strong command of Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required; experience with credit control systems is an advantage.
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English.
