Workman LLP is looking for a Credit Controller to join the Glasgow office. This position sits within a collaborative team focused on managing relationships with high-profile clients. The role involves daily interaction with tenants and close coordination with Client Accountants, Treasury, and Property Managers to deliver high standards of service. Support from a Manager and experienced teammates is part of the package.
Main Responsibilities
- Build and maintain professional relationships within the credit control team and across the wider business.
- Communicate daily with tenants by phone and email to secure timely payment of all lease charges.
- Work closely with Property Managers and Client Accounts, adapting to the needs of specific clients or properties.
- Keep the tenant database accurate to support effective arrears collection.
- Independently manage the collection of overdue accounts.
- Proactively reach out to tenants with a history of late payments before deadlines.
- Use initiative to meet objectives while maintaining strong customer relations.
- Coordinate with Cashiers each day to ensure Property Managers have up-to-date information.
- Reconcile accounts when required.
- Report directly to clients on the progress of arrears recovery.
- Take on other duties as needed.
What We Look For
- A proactive, practical, and positive approach to work.
- Strong professional communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across teams.
- Previous experience in credit control is preferred but not required; no formal qualifications in credit control are necessary.
- GCSEs in Maths and English (grades A-C).
- Strong numeracy skills.
- Good IT skills, especially with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
