This Critical Power Field Technician (UPS Engineer) role is based in Santa Barbara, CA, and covers the surrounding region. The position focuses on on-site preventive, corrective, and restorative maintenance for critical power equipment. Supported systems include UPS, DC systems, inverters, power distribution units (PDUs), static transfer switches (STS), and standalone reserve battery technologies. The work calls for strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to shifting field requirements.

Main Responsibilities

  • Install electrical equipment, such as small rack-mounted UPS systems, batteries of various sizes, and UPS or battery monitoring devices.
  • Maintain battery cabinets, racks, maintenance bypass systems, battery monitoring equipment, DC systems, and related electrical infrastructure.
  • Carry out periodic and lifecycle-driven services, including failure analysis, troubleshooting, component replacement, and battery string installation.
  • Build and sustain strong customer relationships by delivering high-quality service and identifying upselling opportunities.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to customer field troubleshooting requests.
  • Act promptly during critical situations to reduce downtime.
  • Mentor and guide crew members on site work and troubleshooting best practices.
