The Data Acquisition Specialist will spearhead research initiatives focused on the extraction, normalization, and ingestion of civic data. This role is pivotal in building an unparalleled database aimed at informing the public and facilitating voter registration. Civitech operates as a remote-first company, hiring across our current footprint of 27 states (AL, AK, CA, CO, DC, DE, FL, GA, HI, IL, MA, MD, MN, NC, ND, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, SD, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI). We also have an office based in Austin, TX.

Your Responsibilities:
- File numerous public records requests to gather publicly available data.
- Collaborate with technical staff to design and implement web scrapers.
- Utilize internal data platforms, SQL, and Google Sheets for data extraction, cleansing, exploration, and uploading.
- Manage complex, fast-paced research projects through careful planning, organization, and delegation.
- Troubleshoot data-related issues, resolve flags, and share insights to improve data quality and user experience.
- Lead research projects centered on data collection from public information requests.
- Delegate tasks, track progress, and devise creative solutions to meet tight deadlines.
- Independently establish project checkpoints, milestones, and dashboards to assess and communicate progress to the broader team.
- Identify new research projects and articulate requirements regarding timeline, scope, and staffing.
Your Profile:
- Proficient in using web scrapers to gather data from both static and dynamic sources.
- Experience in filing public records requests.
- 3-7 years of professional expertise in data acquisition and project management.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in SQL.
- Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional time management abilities.
- Experience in maintaining comprehensive documentation and reporting.
