Key ResponsibilitiesBuilding Design & StandardsEstablish and uphold the architectural foundation for design, including prototype drawing packages, master specifications, and reference designs for Fluidstack's campus portfolio. Lead the development of master plans and campus layouts, addressing building positioning, setbacks, service access, security zoning, and phasing logic across multi-building environments. Oversee the design of building envelope components, including cladding systems, roofing assemblies, curtainwalls, and detailed penetrations, ensuring adherence to FM Global requirements. Develop standards for space planning, adjacency requirements, door and hardware schedules, access control zoning, and security tier separations across different building types, aligned with operational SLA requirements. Integrate architectural scope with structural, MEP, fire protection, and civil teams, while maintaining awareness of cost and scheduling impacts throughout the design process. Design ManagementManage external architects and engineers from schematic design to Issued for Construction (IFC), ensuring deliverables meet standards, tracking design quality, and enforcing compliance throughout the design lifecycle.

Role Overview

The Architect position is a pivotal role within Fluidstack's Data Center Design and Engineering team. You will lead the architectural workstream for a diverse portfolio of data center developments across multiple sites and states, overseeing the process from initial concept through design, permitting, and completion of construction.

This is an owner/developer position where you will manage external architects and engineers, coordinate efforts across civil, structural, and MEP disciplines, and engage with general contractors, authorities having jurisdiction, and operational stakeholders. You will serve as the subject matter expert in building envelope design, life safety protocols, spatial planning, and code compliance for some of the largest data center campuses currently under development.
