Data Center Technician IV Role:
The Data Center Technician IV is expected to possess advanced expertise and will be accountable for ensuring the operational integrity and regulatory compliance of the data center's electrical, mechanical, fire life safety systems, and communications infrastructure.
This role is for the Day Shift from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Mechanical duties encompass chilled water systems and components, HVAC systems including rooftop units, CRAC/CRAH units, and humidification systems.
Electrical responsibilities involve the distribution of electrical/critical power from the Utility/Generator main switchgear through the UPS systems to the customer load.
Fire Life Safety duties include managing wet sprinkler systems, pre-action sprinkler systems, and their associated detection devices.
Communications Infrastructure responsibilities will include managing IFD/MDF/MMR, structured cabling, and ownership of supporting infrastructure, along with customer space management.
This position also entails direct accountability for processes that maximize customer uptime efficiently and cost-effectively, in close collaboration with the Data Center Manager. Technicians must ensure that data center issues are promptly identified and resolved, contractors provide high-quality services, and internal customer demands are met. A Tier IV technician innovates to minimize operational costs, enhance efficiency, and implement new strategies.
