Role Overview: Data Center Technician IV
The Data Center Technician IV is expected to possess an expert level of knowledge and will be accountable for ensuring the operational integrity and regulatory adherence of the data center’s electrical, mechanical, fire life safety systems, and communications infrastructure.
This position is for the Night Shift, Monday to Friday.
Your responsibilities will encompass the management of chilled water systems and components, HVAC systems including rooftop units, CRAC/CRAH units, and humidification systems.
On the electrical side, you will oversee critical power distribution from the Utility/Generator main switchgear through the UPS systems to customer loads.
In terms of Fire Life Safety, responsibilities will include the management of wet sprinkler systems, pre-action sprinkler systems, and their associated detection devices.
Your role will also extend to managing IFD/MDF/MMR, structured cabling, supporting infrastructure, and customer space management.
This position will play a crucial role in maximizing customer uptime in a cost-effective manner, collaborating closely with the Data Center Manager. Technicians are expected to swiftly identify and rectify data center issues, ensure contractors provide quality services, and meet internal customer demands. A Tier IV technician will devise innovative strategies to minimize operational costs, enhance efficiency, and implement new methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the subject matter expert for data center electrical, mechanical, controls, and fire life safety systems.
- Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in the facility.
