The Role of Data Science at Nubank
Data Science plays a pivotal role in our operations from day one. Every department leverages data-driven insights, and as a Data Scientist, you will be instrumental in translating business challenges into effective models and solutions.
Your Responsibilities as a Data Scientist
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine the optimal application of data science and AI for Nubank’s challenges.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis and apply quantitative methods to uncover valuable insights.
- Exhibit strong numerical and analytical skills with a solid understanding of statistics and linear algebra.
- Engage in various stages of the machine learning model lifecycle, from concept to training and operationalization.
- Utilize diverse models, algorithms, and learning paradigms.
- Effectively communicate technical details, decisions, and trade-offs to both peers and stakeholders.
Who You Are: Our Ideal Candidate
- You have proven experience with ML models in production settings.
- You are aware of the challenges and trade-offs involved in applying ML to real-world, complex scenarios.
- You possess a thorough understanding of learning theory and algorithms, capable of discussing key details.
- You have hands-on experience with the Python scientific stack (Numpy, Pandas, Scipy, Sklearn, Boosted Tree Libraries, etc.).
- You are familiar with Tensor/Deep Learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- You can align analytical results with business priorities and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- You exhibit excellent communication skills, adept at articulating technical concepts to varied audiences.
- You have experience writing efficient, general-purpose code using modern development tools.
- You understand the implications of causality in applying ML to practical problems.
- You stay current with the latest advancements in the field and can identify emerging opportunities.
