Role Overview: Data Scientist in Sales
This Data Scientist will work closely with Business Development and Program Development teams. The focus: analyze and communicate the economic benefits of Rainmaker's initiatives, especially the value of increased snowpack and water resources. The role also involves building data infrastructure that connects Rainmaker's operations to real-world outcomes for agriculture, municipalities, utilities, and environmental groups.
The position blends environmental science, economics, and data storytelling. Expect to work with varied datasets, weather, hydrology, commodity prices, land use, and economic indicators, to deliver benefit analyses that help form partnerships and support program expansion.
Key Responsibility
- Economic Benefit Modeling: Build and refine models that measure the financial impact of added precipitation for sectors like agriculture, hydropower, municipal water supply, wildfire mitigation, and ecosystem services.
