Job Description

As a Design Associate in our Water/Wastewater division, you will leverage your diverse design expertise to tackle complex drafting tasks that require the application of standardized techniques. You will provide recommendations for design techniques and suggest minor design changes to effectively address engineering and design challenges. Your ability to work independently is essential, and you may also oversee the efforts of junior staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute detailed design work on projects, including creating drawings and layouts, reviewing project specifications, and conducting design calculations.
  • Research various design concepts and techniques to develop strategies that enhance project outcomes.
  • Perform advanced computer-aided design tasks, ensuring compliance with project objectives and quality standards.
  • Potentially review drawings, prepare project cost estimates, and participate in client meetings.
  • Maintain thorough project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and correspondence.
  • Assist in preparing environmental impact reports or other project-related studies.
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of less experienced staff when necessary.
  • Be prepared to work in diverse terrains and weather conditions at various stages of construction projects.
