Objective: As the Design Lead (Civil / Structural) at Assystem, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing engineering activities related to Civil and Structural Engineering for Solar PV Power Plants. You will guide the modeling team in developing BIM 3D Models and ensure seamless coordination across various departments, including Electrical, Instrumentation, MEP, and more. Your expertise will support the engineering process from pre-bid stages to commissioning and ongoing operations, providing essential assistance to site teams as needed.
You will lead a talented team of Design Engineers and Draughts Persons, ensuring that all engineering activities are completed on time, within budget, and uphold the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver engineering drawings and documents promptly
• Align project deliveries with the established schedule
• Review and approve drawings and design calculations from engineers and draughts persons
• Assess vendor deliverables related to engineering
• Manage multiple tasks efficiently to meet deadlines
• Estimate and plan manpower requirements
• Review and submit Bills of Quantities (BOQ) to the contracts team, offering technical clarifications as needed
• Facilitate inter-departmental checks by coordinating with various disciplines
• Provide support and clarifications to the on-site execution team
• Evaluate vendor pre-award documentation against technical specifications and communicate findings to Supply Chain Management
• Inspect equipment from selected vendors post-approval
• Address design-related queries from the site execution team
• Gather project-specific details (e.g., soil reports, boundary coordinates, topographical surveys) from clients and relevant section heads
• Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure design specifications are approved
• Collect general arrangement drawings from vendors
• Assist Electrical DC, AC, and Instrumentation teams in reviewing vendor drawings
• Provide estimates for man-hours needed to undertake and review project designs and drawings
• Deliver key design outputs, including module mounting structures, control room layouts, inverter room civil and structural drawings, and solar plant civil infrastructure designs.
Technical Expertise:
The Design Lead should possess substantial technical knowledge in civil and structural engineering, particularly concerning control room buildings, transformer foundations, and outdoor equipment.
