YOUR IMPACT

In this design-centric role, you will guide stellarator design decisions while prioritizing radiological safety. You will collaborate across teams to ensure component designers are informed about relevant nuclear safety implications.

You will review existing designs and propose enhancements that improve safety, mitigate potential accident scenarios, and bolster compliance with regulatory standards.

Your nuclear analysis will directly influence the design of stellarator demonstrators and pioneering power plants, significantly impacting design safety and paving the way toward regulatory approval.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Evaluate designs with a strong focus on nuclear safety.

  • Collaborate with engineering and physics teams early in the design process to ensure safety considerations are integrated into component and system development.

  • Work alongside neutronics experts, material scientists, and manufacturers to establish acceptable impurity levels in materials subjected to intense neutron irradiation.
