Development Manager at Playworks Indiana works in Indianapolis, IN (hybrid schedule with local travel). Reporting to the Executive Director, this role focuses on daily development operations and helps drive the region’s fundraising efforts. The Executive Director sets the overall strategy, while the Development Manager ensures plans are carried out, tracked, and adjusted as needed to meet fundraising targets.
This position manages development operations, coordinates stewardship activities, organizes fundraising events, maintains Salesforce records, and supports relationship management. Fundraising priorities include events, sponsorships, and partner renewals, with additional contributions to individual giving as part of the broader regional plan. Collaboration with the Playworks HQ Development team is expected for shared planning, but all regional work remains under the direction of the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities
Fund Development & Stewardship (30%)
- Manage a portfolio of corporate, foundation, and individual partners, focusing on renewals, stewardship, and growth. Responsible for meeting fundraising goals tied to events, sponsorships, and renewals.
- Implement corporate sponsorships and engagement opportunities across Playworks Indiana programs, leading early-stage cultivation and advancing relationships.
- Support ongoing relationship-building with foundation partners and help position the organization for future funding opportunities.
- Oversee grants coordination and proposal support: maintain the grants calendar, research new prospects, coordinate submissions and reporting, and ensure proposals reflect the organization’s voice.
Events & Partner Engagement (30%)
- Plan and execute core fundraising and engagement events.
