The Device Physics Engineer for Solar Cells will play a central role in our high-volume silicon heterojunction (SHJ) solar cell fabrication facility in Bastrop, TX. This position focuses on maximizing cell efficiency and performance for applications in Starship, Starlink, AI Satellites, and deep-space missions.

What You Will Do

  • Own cell efficiency across the full production process, from ingot growth through module fabrication.
  • Collaborate with process and equipment engineers to improve cell performance and define wafer specifications.
  • Design space-optimized cell architectures for demanding aerospace and satellite environments.
  • Develop and implement rigorous metrology and reliability frameworks.
  • Lead the implementation of new production processes in a greenfield solar cell facility.
  • Oversee equipment and lab procurement, plant design and layout, and equipment commissioning and ramp-up.
  • Develop process recipes and help build a skilled production team and environment.
