Role overview
This is the first DevOps Engineer position at Mach Industries. The role centers on building and managing the core infrastructure that supports all company operations. Responsibilities span improving developer workflows, maintaining production reliability, and shaping the long-term DevOps strategy. There is significant technical freedom and a chance to influence infrastructure decisions as the company grows.
The DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and maintain systems and tools to secure, scale, and speed up the software lifecycle. As an early technical hire, this person will help define DevOps culture, select tools, and set automation and reliability strategies.
What you will do
- Develop and maintain Github CI/CD pipelines to improve developer efficiency and reduce deployment risks.
- Design and manage AWS cloud infrastructure for availability, scalability, and security.
- Advance observability by improving monitoring, logging, metrics, and alerting, including on-call response planning.
- Collaborate with software and hardware teams to support test infrastructure, simulation environments, and production rollouts.
- Promote infrastructure security and cost management best practices.
- Set up incident response protocols and lead root cause analysis.
- Help shape DevOps processes, select tools, and build team culture as the company expands.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a DevOps, Infrastructure, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role.
