About the job
A new era in space exploration has commenced. True Anomaly is on the lookout for talented and driven individuals to develop pioneering technology that addresses the next wave of engineering, manufacturing, and operational challenges in space security and sustainability.
OUR MISSION
The peaceful utilization of space is crucial for ongoing prosperity on Earth, from communications and finance to navigation and logistics. True Anomaly creates innovative technology at the intersection of spacecraft, software, and AI to enhance the capabilities of the U. S., its allies, and commercial partners, ensuring that global security is upheld through accessible and sustainable space.
OUR VALUES
- Be the offset. We leverage creativity and ingenuity to create asymmetric advantages.
- What would it take? We question assumptions to achieve ambitious outcomes.
- It’s the people. Our team is our competitive edge, and together we are stronger.
YOUR MISSION
At True Anomaly, autonomy is not just a feature; it's our strategic advantage. In space-to-space operations, success is often determined in milliseconds. In contested and unpredictable environments, autonomous decision-making can mean the difference between mission success and failure. Human-in-the-loop approaches lack the necessary speed, while pre-programmed responses are not adaptable enough.
As the Director of Autonomy, you will establish and expand the technical vision that empowers our spacecraft to act autonomously. You will develop systems capable of making optimal decisions amid uncertainty during close-proximity operations, predicting adversary behavior, and executing maneuvers without waiting for ground commands. This role encompasses the entire autonomy roadmap, from foundational algorithms to flight-certified systems across multiple product lines.
You will lead a small, elite team, influencing how we design, validate, and deploy autonomous capabilities that outpace competitors and adversaries alike.
