THE OPPORTUNITY:
ActBlue is looking for a Director of Data Science & Engineering to spearhead our Data Science & Engineering department. In this role, you will cultivate a data-centric culture by developing teams, infrastructure, systems, and services that enhance organizational insights and drive data-informed product experiences.
The Data Science & Engineering department encompasses all of ActBlue’s data capabilities, from providing data analytics and reporting services to maintaining our data warehouse and ETL infrastructure. This department is vital for leveraging our data as a competitive edge in Democratic and progressive grassroots fundraising.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Collaborate with organizational leaders to devise and implement a data strategy aligned with ActBlue's short- and long-term objectives, including facilitating organizational growth through acquisitions and partnerships.
- Promote a data-centric culture by enhancing our capacity for data-informed decision-making and developing high-performance data products that meet stringent reliability standards.
- Champion AI/ML-focused products and features across the ActBlue Platform by establishing scalable machine learning infrastructures that support production environments, while identifying new opportunities to deploy data science and analytics in service of our mission.
- Oversee the Data Science, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, and Data Platform teams in a dynamic, mission-driven setting.
- Guide the advancement of our data systems, tools, and architecture to fulfill the organization’s needs, including data consolidation, governance frameworks, and unified data models across various entities.
- Ensure clear communication and a stakeholder-centric approach throughout the organization.
