The Gemini App
As a leader in the AI evolution, the Gemini App is revolutionizing user experiences with generative AI technology. We are on the lookout for a visionary Design Leader who can craft the strategic direction that will shape the future of our offerings.
Position Summary
In this pivotal role, you will take charge of defining user experiences, championing design excellence, and nurturing a culture of innovation within Gemini. Collaborating closely with product management, engineering, and research teams, your goal is to create an experience that is intuitive, powerful, and visually stunning for users around the globe.
The Distinguished Designer serves as the technical foundation of the Gemini interface. You will bridge cutting-edge machine learning with meticulous mobile implementation, ensuring that Gemini operates "as fast as thought" while upholding world-class stability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing the AI-UI Bridge: Develop technical frameworks for iOS and Android that efficiently manage non-deterministic AI outputs (including streaming audio/visuals) with zero latency and maximum fluidity.
- Performance Optimization: Define the "Gold Standard" for mobile UI latency by optimizing rendering and state management to accommodate complex multimodal requests without sacrificing battery performance or device thermals.
- AI-Enhanced Tools: Create and implement internal "Design-to-Code" pipelines that empower the design team to utilize Gemini for automating UI generation and live-model prototyping.
- Technical Leadership: Establish best practices for user experience in emerging technologies and ambiguous problem spaces while mentoring senior contributors and engineers at the intersection of UI development and AI inference.
