As the Electrical Construction Project Director, you will spearhead the low-voltage business unit at ec-electric, driving the successful execution of diverse projects in telecommunications, security/access control, fire alarm, and other special systems. This pivotal role demands full P&L accountability, ensuring that all projects not only meet but exceed safety standards and compliance regulations. You will lead a dynamic Project Management team, typically overseeing a revenue portfolio exceeding $20 million annually, while also managing forecasting, cost control, staffing, and overall project performance.
Your leadership will extend beyond operational oversight; you will foster growth through exceptional client relations and service excellence. By collaborating with senior leadership, you will navigate risks, address challenges, and perpetuate continuous improvement through streamlined processes and workforce development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee multiple concurrent projects, ensuring financial objectives are met while upholding quality standards.
- Enhance the professional development of project management staff while promoting client engagement initiatives.
- Champion positive relationships with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, embedding a culture of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Initiate and document quality pre-construction and start-up meetings in accordance with company protocols.
- Manage contracts, claims, and dispute resolutions effectively.
- Collaborate with the Estimating department to refine project estimates, RECAPS, and successful procurement strategies in a competitive market.
- Act as a mentor for Senior Project Managers and Project Managers, guiding them in team management.
- Conduct regular reviews to ensure adherence to project schedules, safety protocols, and profitability.
- Assign qualified personnel to meet specific project needs and deliverables.
- Facilitate project close-out meetings, verifying all project documentation and client approvals.
