Currently pursuing Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status. Significant relevant experience with a proven technical background. Proficient in AutoCAD with a solid understanding of drawing standards and best practices. Demonstrated experience in delivering project outputs within specified timelines, budgets, and quality parameters. Preferred Skills / Additional Qualifications:Experience in designing communications systems (Ethernet, field bus). Experience in commissioning or maintaining electrical and control systems. Knowledge in access and security system design. Familiarity with safety standards (IEC 61508, 61511, 61513). Experience with client-specific standards, such as those from Sellafield.

AECOM UK is on the lookout for a dedicated Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to join our dynamic Warrington office. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering top-notch EC&I design and engineering services. Your responsibilities will encompass the creation of design documentation, ensuring design integrity, and conducting thorough checks on the work of fellow engineers and designers. This position presents a unique opportunity to engage in technically demanding projects within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment while also interacting directly with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the EC&I design and engineering efforts within the department, ensuring high standards of quality in all outputs.

  • Develop Functional Design Specifications, Basis of Design, User Requirement Specifications, and related documentation.

  • Review and approve engineering drawings and documents from colleagues to verify adherence to standards and project criteria.

  • Work closely with mechanical, civil, and process engineers to guarantee integrated project delivery.

  • Oversee small teams and manage workload distribution to ensure projects are completed on time and within budgetary constraints.

  • Prioritize Health and Safety in all design considerations.

  • Engage directly with clients, showcasing your professional and technical expertise.

Electrical Responsibilities:

  • Design for low voltage electrical distribution systems, including lighting, lightning protection, and fire alarm systems.

  • Thorough understanding of interlocking systems is essential.

  • Proficient in BS7671 standards (essential).

Control & Instrumentation Responsibilities:

  • Design control systems and instrumentation setups, including loop diagrams and instrument schedules.

  • Expertise in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) hardware and software design.

  • Develop I/O, alarm, and trip schedules.

  • Design control panels, including general arrangements, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and parts lists.
