Job Overview

We are looking for a talented Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design, test, and implement electrical systems and components, working closely with a multidisciplinary group of professionals including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and naval architects. Your expertise will help us tackle the unique challenges posed by autonomous vessels navigating open waters.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with electrical design engineering and manufacturing teams throughout product development and production, enhancing product functionality and reliability through best practices and established process controls.

  • Support new product development by prototyping early-stage hardware to evaluate design limitations.

  • Implement design-for-manufacturability changes to optimize production efficiency.

  • Analyze and resolve manufacturing discrepancies in partnership with the quality team, addressing issues related to design, fabrication, and assembly.

  • Engage in design reviews with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure alignment and quality.

  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to generate innovative ideas, designs, and enhancements for current and next-generation vessels.

  • Source and advise new and experienced vendors from a technical perspective.

  • Dive deep into technical challenges to identify, understand, and resolve complex issues, utilizing a system-level approach to prioritize vessel-wide concerns.

  • Identify opportunities for risk reduction and complexity elimination in designs and processes to improve manufacturability, collaborating with integrated product teams to drive improvements and address recurrent non-conformances.

  • Continuously assess requirements to differentiate between value-added features and non-essential overhead.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Demonstrated understanding of electrical engineering principles, including design integrations into complex systems.
