MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 8 years of practical experience in electrical engineering. Demonstrated ability to lead engineering development projects and deliver timely designs (for senior-level candidates). Exceptional problem-solving skills through the application of first-principles thinking. Experience in designing industrial equipment, with a focus on field requirements and real-time PLC systems. Proficiency in designing cable harnesses and electrical panels for industrial machines. Able to manage projects effectively, ensuring quality and compliance throughout the process.

About the job

ICON seeks an Electrical Engineer II to join the Titan Team in Austin, Texas. This position centers on designing and developing the Titan print system, supporting its progress from early concept through to serial production. Reporting to the Manager of Titan Electrical Engineering, this engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams on advanced construction robotics projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers across disciplines to design and develop a robotic construction platform, emphasizing motion control and integration of dynamic fluid systems.
  • Prototype electrical systems, specify instrumentation, and contribute to R&D for experimental platforms.
  • Guide systems from prototype stage to commercial production, ensuring electrical panel designs and fabrication comply with UL508A, NFPA 79, UL2011, and NFPA 70 (NEC) standards.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, refine processes, and support manufacturing in an AGILE setting.
  • Create design solutions grounded in sound engineering principles and maintain detailed documentation using SolidWorks and SolidWorks Electrical Schematic.
  • Lead lean manufacturing efforts as the specifying engineer for Design for Manufacturing (DFM) projects.
  • Work flexibly between design and field tasks as project demands change.
  • Ensure all work aligns with company Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to advance strategic goals.

This position is based onsite at ICON's office in Austin, Texas.
