About the Role
We are on the lookout for a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our renowned MEP consulting engineering firm, recognized for its extensive project portfolio and commitment to excellence. This position is perfect for an engineer with practical experience in designing electrical systems for buildings, seeking a stable and rewarding long-term career in consulting engineering.
In this role, you will engage in the design of various facilities, including healthcare, education, commercial, and government buildings, collaborating closely with mechanical and plumbing engineers in a fully integrated MEP environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for institutional and commercial structures, covering:
- Power distribution systems
- Lighting solutions
- Fire alarm systems
- Low-voltage and building systems
- Develop comprehensive electrical layouts, one-line diagrams, and electrical room designs
- Conduct load calculations, photometric studies, short-circuit analyses, and arc-flash assessments
- Create and coordinate 3D Revit models and 2D AutoCAD schematics
- Prepare construction documentation, specifications, and technical narratives
- Assist with construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, and field coordination
- Collaborate with mechanical and plumbing engineers to ensure cohesive building designs
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in MEP consulting or building systems design
- Proven experience in electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm system design for buildings
- Strong proficiency in Revit (at least 3 years)
- Extensive AutoCAD experience (minimum 4 years)
- Solid understanding of MEP coordination (HVAC & Plumbing exposure required)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Professional, team-oriented attitude with a positive and dependable work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- Colorado state engineering license preferred
- Experience in green building practices and energy-efficient design
