Peter Lucas Project Management is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support heavy industrial mining projects. This intermediate-level role focuses on delivering electrical engineering solutions for both major capital and sustaining capital projects within mining and heavy industry.
The position is based on-site and follows a rotational schedule: 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, with 11-hour workdays. Travel to the project site is arranged via flights departing from Saskatoon to remote site camps. Candidates must be able to travel to Saskatoon to join these flights.
What You Will Do
- Champion a strong safety culture and comply with all safety programs and regulations.
- Design electrical systems for low, medium, and high voltage applications, including power distribution, motor control, and generation systems.
- Apply electrical design standards and best practices tailored to mining and heavy industrial environments.
- Lead the electrical engineering scope for assigned projects and coordinate with other disciplines.
- Develop and review Scopes of Work (SOW) for electrical installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Carry out power system studies such as load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination.
- Prepare and maintain engineering deliverables: drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and equipment lists.
- Support procurement activities, including technical bid evaluations and reviewing vendor/shop drawings.
- Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, and operational phases.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, and vendors.
