The Mechanical Superintendent II plays a vital role in overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical construction activities, including HVAC systems, process piping, plumbing, and utilities across intricate projects in the Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, and Mission Critical sectors. Reporting to a Mechanical Superintendent III or Senior Superintendent, this position is responsible for ensuring that all work is conducted safely, accurately, and within the designated schedule.This role involves managing subcontractors, ensuring high installation quality, enforcing safety and QA/QC standards, and enhancing daily productivity on specialized mechanical work packages.Key Responsibilities:Assist in the development of look-ahead schedules, manpower forecasts, and installation sequences for mechanical work.Coordinate daily activities with other trades to ensure alignment with project timelines.Verify the availability of materials, tools, and equipment necessary for scheduled tasks.Conduct daily mechanical installation checks to identify potential quality issues promptly.Develop plans and coordinate execution strategies, completing checklists, inspections, and turnover documentation for a rigorous QA/QC program.Support commissioning preparations by confirming system installation readiness.Assist in the installation of chilled water systems, CRAH/CRAC units, hydronic systems, process piping, and other critical mechanical components.Coordinate integrated systems testing and mechanical sign-off activities.Ensure construction methods adhere to reliability, redundancy, and uptime requirements.Participate in daily safety reviews and enforce compliance with project and company safety programs.Ensure subcontractors adhere to all mechanical safety protocols, including hot work, confined space, and equipment operation.Direct craft foremen and mechanical subcontractors on daily tasks.Take initiative in resolving field issues by collaborating with senior superintendents, engineers, and planning teams.Contribute to OAC, coordination, and foremen meetings as required.
