REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in designing electrical harnesses for rugged applications across commercial, industrial, aerospace, or military sectors. Proven track record of collaborating with harness manufacturers to deliver high-quality, reliable products. Ownership of the complete electrical wiring and interconnect system, encompassing power distribution, grounding, shielding, and signal integrity. Ability to ensure designs meet system-level electrical specifications such as voltage, current, bandwidth, redundancy, and EMI/EMC standards. Capable of performing electrical trade studies regarding wire gauge, shielding, connectors, and more.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Utilize your engineering expertise to design, fabricate, and integrate harness systems, serving as the harness discipline representative on projects.
  • Conduct investigations, planning, design, and development of harnesses to fulfill diverse technical specifications.
  • Research, select, and procure suitable connectors, back-shells, contacts, wire, shielding, and cable construction to comply with environmental standards.
  • Create and generate harness system block diagrams and wiring diagrams to facilitate production readiness.
  • Engage in design reviews, providing insights to identify challenges and influence design decisions.
  • Draft harness assembly instructions and testing procedures, applying your knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • Guide the electrical team in determining system requirements based on inputs from internal and external stakeholders, including engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, software), product management, and quality assurance.
  • Thrive in a dynamic environment while supporting new developments, ongoing deployments, and customer-operated hardware.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently at various stages of development.
