edge-electric is hiring an Electrical Project Manager to oversee project delivery in the Austin area, based out of the Buda, Texas office. This role covers the full project cycle, including planning, design, execution, and closeout. Success relies on strong knowledge of electrical systems, solid project management abilities, and effective team leadership to ensure quality work is completed on schedule and within budget.
Main Responsibilities
- Procurement
- Set up and maintain detailed submittal and procurement logs.
- Verify fixture counts and confirm vendor Bills of Materials (BOMs) are accurate.
- Budget Management
- Monitor budgets, forecasts, and Work In Progress (WIP) throughout each project.
- Document cost impacts and actions taken to address them.
- Collaborate with the Estimating Department to resolve discrepancies, questions, and shortages.
- Productivity Tracking
- Keep accurate productivity records for field teams.
- Meet regularly with field leadership to review project progress.
- Troubleshoot production issues as they arise.
- Develop strategies and a clear order of operations for project completion.
- Safety Oversight
- Implement and enforce site-specific safety procedures and standards.
- Scheduling
- Review contract schedules and advocate for achievable timelines.
- Support workforce planning and help create lookahead schedules.
- Quality Assurance
- Work with field leadership to resolve installation challenges.
- Design layouts for complex installations and participate in BIM coordination.
- Document Control
- Manage electronic filing systems to keep project information organized and accessible.
- Maintain document management and presentation protocols.
- Coordinate submittals and closeout documentation efficiently.
- Team Leadership
- Work closely with managers and analysts to drive project outcomes.
- Delegate tasks based on team strengths and project needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors.
- Mentor and support foremen in the field.
