Required Qualifications:Electronics Degree or at least 5 years of relevant experience in installing or fabricating Military, Federal, or Commercial Radio electronic equipment or fiber optic cable. Proven experience with FAA National Airspace (NAS) communications systems, cabling, and equipment. Strong knowledge of VHF and UHF AM radios, including the software, alignment, and setup of Radio Control Equipment (RCE). Proficiency in using manual and power tools along with test equipment such as multimeters, ohmmeters, power meters, and oscilloscopes. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Office, and Excel software. Understanding of telecommunications requirements (Commercial Telco, RCL, Field Cable, Fiber Optics, etc.). Ability to take electronic baseline readings and generate Facility Reference Data Files (FRDF) in accordance with FAA technical handbooks and tolerances.

Crown Innovations Inc. is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Electronics Technician to become a vital part of our team based in Anchorage, Alaska. You will be working primarily as a floating electronics installer, engaging in approximately 25% travel throughout the stunning state of Alaska, with your base of operations set in Anchorage. Our work hours are Monday to Thursday from 6 AM to 4:30 PM.

This role demands a confident individual ready to tackle challenges in geographic isolation. Candidates must possess the technical expertise and problem-solving skills necessary to devise effective solutions in unique circumstances. The Electronics Technician will receive guidance from a Technical Manager or Engineer but will primarily operate independently, establishing themselves as the go-to on-site Electronic/Communications Subject Matter Expert (SME).

The typical tasks for this position include:

  • Leading pre-installation meetings.

  • Coordinating frequency outages with relevant stakeholders.

  • Removing and responsibly disposing of existing communications equipment.

  • Installing new radio racks, radios, and other government-furnished equipment (GFE).

  • Setting up new or upgraded conduit and cable trays.

  • Replacing antennas as necessary.

  • Installing junction boxes to enhance system functionality.

  • Conducting electronics testing procedures to verify proper operation.

  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
