Required Qualifications:2+ years of experience in embedded systems. Proficiency in C/C++ and Python. Familiarity with MCU architectures, peripherals, and development environments. Ability to interpret electrical schematics and datasheets. Comprehensive knowledge of embedded toolchains and workflows. Strong foundation in electrical engineering and digital signal processing. HW/SW debugging experience with lab equipment. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with safety-critical systems. Familiarity with real-time operating systems. Knowledge of wireless communication protocols. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.

Team Overview:

The Brain Interfaces Embedded Systems Team, part of the Brain Interfaces Hardware Department, is responsible for developing high-performance, safety-critical embedded systems for next-generation brain-computer interfaces. As a vital member of our team, you will receive hands-on training, collaborate with experienced mentors, and contribute to impactful projects.

Role and Responsibilities:

We are seeking enthusiastic engineers ready to delve into the challenges of working in high-powered and latency-sensitive environments. Your role will involve developing firmware for the implant, allowing you to make significant contributions to the product's capabilities. You will work closely with chip designers, electrical engineers, algorithms engineers, and fellow software engineers on an agile team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating cross-functionally to produce safety-critical systems while managing power, radio, and thermal constraints.
  • Understanding product delivery processes from planning and design to execution and testing.
  • Enhancing your knowledge of hardware while developing bare-metal firmware in C.
  • Contributing to the organization of the codebase, prioritizing modular designs to facilitate effective hardware implementation.
  • Identifying system enhancements to reduce latency and improve battery life, reliability, and safety.
