About SE3 Labs
SE3 Labs is building Spatial AI by combining advanced 3D computer vision with large language models. The team is focused on enabling machines to understand and interact with physical spaces, opening new possibilities for automation in fields like construction, smart infrastructure, and defense.
To make this vision real, SE3 Labs is developing a high-performance robotics platform, starting with UAVs. The company is looking for an embedded engineer who can help build the core systems that allow these machines to communicate, update, and operate reliably in the field.
Role Overview
The Embedded Software / Firmware Engineer will own the low-level software stack for SE3 Labs' autonomy platform, which covers drones, payloads, and ground systems. This work shapes the reliability, durability, and performance of the flagship product.
This is a hands-on, on-site position based at a prototyping and testing facility located 35km from Munich. The role involves close collaboration with hardware, testing, and AI software teams. Some travel may be required for field trials and partner evaluations.
Contributions in this role directly impact system architecture and hardware design, helping move products from prototype to real-world deployment.
What You Will Do
- Requirements & Bring-Up: Translate system requirements into embedded software architecture. Bring up new boards and subsystems on Jetson, Arm, and STM32 platforms.
- Drivers & Interfaces: Design and maintain drivers and hardware-facing code for sensors, cameras, AI accelerators, and communication networks.
- Kernel & System Layer: Work with embedded Linux, including kernel and device-tree configuration, BSP integration, and board bring-up, to create stable and maintainable systems.
- Flash, Boot & Deploy: Build and improve tools for flashing, booting, and serial deployment to support development, production, updates, and recovery.
Location
This role is based at an undisclosed test site approximately 35km from Munich. On-site presence is required, with occasional travel for field testing and partner work.
