About the job

About Swoop Technologies:

At Swoop Technologies, our mission is to revolutionize the accessibility of military and critical infrastructure globally. We are pioneering SwoopOS, a distributed operating system that transforms existing equipment into a combined robotic framework. This innovation serves as the foundation for a new era of distributed systems, autonomous technologies, and agentic AI, facilitated through our SDK, Valhalla, and operated via our browser platform, Surf. Picture a world where vital infrastructure such as the electrical grid, communication networks, and manufacturing capabilities are liberated, maximizing their potential for military superiority, economic competitiveness, and energy dominance. Swoop is committed to unleashing these vital resources to shape a future built on the rapid integration of software and physical realities, bounded only by the laws of physics and the principles of safety.

Your Impact:

Joining our Edge Team presents an opportunity to contribute to the development of a genuine distributed operating system. This is not merely a layer of abstraction; you will be working on a sophisticated OS that operates across diverse instruction sets, prioritizes security, and scales to manage entire power grids and military operations. You will play a key role at the intersection of artificial intelligence, robotics, and real-world applications, crafting a computational model that our OS utilizes to solve critical geopolitical challenges. Every team member plays a vital role in this exciting and impactful environment. Join us at our offices in Minneapolis or Washington, DC.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain embedded system firmware, including low-level drivers, bootloaders, and essential OS functions for optimal system initialization and hardware interaction.

  • Contribute to the integration of the OS and kernel-level modules, ensuring effective communication between hardware abstraction layers and higher-level software.

  • Architect and implement application-layer features and system services that leverage firmware interfaces, focusing on performance, resource efficiency, and system robustness.

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues spanning multiple domains.

About Swoop Technologies

Swoop Technologies is at the forefront of transforming military and critical infrastructure accessibility. By developing SwoopOS, we aim to unlock the potential of existing equipment and integrate it into a cohesive robotic system that drives innovation in distributed systems and AI.
