YOUR ROLE As an Emergency Veterinary Assistant at VEG, you will play a crucial role from your first day, providing support to your team, comforting pet parents, and gaining hands-on experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Welcome patients warmly and assist in triaging incoming cases, ensuring they receive timely care. Support treatment and nursing care, including tasks such as bloodwork, imaging, catheter placement, and administering oxygen support. Collaborate with our licensed veterinary technicians and veterinarians to prepare and monitor anesthesia and sedation cases. Manage the setup of IV fluids, blood transfusions, and medication administration. Participate in every aspect of patient care, from outpatient consultations to inpatient treatments. Engage in patient rounds to maintain continuity of care. Receive training in CPR and become a RECOVER Certified Rescuer (training provided). Advance your skills and take on more complex responsibilities as you grow in your role.
