Position Overview

The Engineering Development Program (EDP) is tailored for outstanding recent graduates aspiring to become Industrial Engineers. This program offers an immersive experience in high-volume space industry operations, focusing on the rapid deployment of a Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation.

As an EDP participant, you will kickstart your career as an Engineering Technician supporting Micron Operations on the spacecraft production floor. This role provides hands-on experience in the assembly, testing, and integration of flight components for the satellite’s phased array.

Your journey through this program will be structured, allowing you to advance along a development path based on your demonstrated technical skills and leadership potential:

Engineering Technician → Associate Manufacturing Engineer → Manufacturing Engineer or Flight Assurance Engineer or Industrial Engineer or Supervisor

This program is a unique opportunity to cultivate engineers who comprehend spacecraft hardware from the ground up, blending hands-on assembly experience with early leadership development and a clear pathway into an engineering role. Participants will engage in direct flight hardware construction, lead technical teams, and support large-scale spacecraft production.

Key Responsibilities

Phase 1 – Industrial Engineering Technician

Participants will commence the program working directly with spacecraft hardware in support of Micron Operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Hands-on assembly and integration of flight components.
  • Mechanical integration, alignment, and fastening of microns within the phased array.
  • Assisting with bonding, adhesives, potting, and precision assembly processes consistent with engineering procedures and workmanship standards.
  • Adhering to stringent cleanroom protocols, including ESD and FOD control when handling flight hardware.
  • Supporting quality inspections and verification activities to ensure hardware compliance with engineering specifications.
