Take ownership of the electronic architecture for terrestrial reactors, with plans to extend into space applications. Collaborate cross-functionally to establish requirements for electronic designs, covering environmental factors, noise levels, accuracy, input ranges, and reliability. Oversee the acceptance and qualification testing of all in-house PCB designs to ensure compliance with established requirements. Essential QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum of 5 years of experience managing electrical engineering teams. At least 5 years of experience in designing mixed-signal, analog, or RF hardware. Demonstrated expertise in PCB design, particularly with attention to low noise, impedance matching, conduction cooling, and robust connector systems; proficiency in Altium is preferred. In-depth knowledge of industrial signal types, including 4-20mA, RTD, thermocouples, and resolvers. Experience handling high-speed, sensitive signal designs.
About the job
Join Radiant Industries
Radiant Industries, based in El Segundo, CA, is pioneering the development of the world's first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. Our flagship reactor, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor designed for flexible deployment, capable of operating for up to five years without refueling. This innovative solution offers a sustainable alternative to diesel generators, delivering essential energy support to hospitals, data centers, remote sites, and military installations. Our approach harnesses cutting-edge software engineering to create safe, factory-manufactured microreactors using proven materials. Since our inception in 2020, we are excited to announce that we will be testing our first reactor at the Idaho National Laboratory this summer, with initial customer deliveries anticipated in 2028.
Position Overview
We are in search of a dedicated Engineering Manager to lead our Electronics team. This team is responsible for developing the electronics architecture for terrestrial reactor controls, with future aspirations towards space reactor applications. As the technical authority, you will oversee the design of custom hardware, including low-noise analog front ends, high-speed data converters, digital signal processing, and printed circuit board (PCB) designs, from requirements gathering to field deployment.
