Role Overview: Engineering Manager – FinTech Solutions
This remote position is based in Wakefield, Massachusetts, and leads a new FinTech engineering team building products for private K-12 schools around the world. The Engineering Manager will shape team culture, set technical direction, and oversee the launch of solutions that support equity and access for families from a range of economic backgrounds.
The team works across Ruby, Ruby on Rails, SQL, JavaScript, and advanced AI-driven development. This role combines people leadership with hands-on technical guidance, setting standards, mentoring engineers, and working closely with product, design, and other teams to deliver scalable, seamless products.
What You Will Do
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of full-stack engineers, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high technical standards.
- Oversee the technical roadmap, aligning engineering work with the broader product vision.
- Drive modernization efforts, updating legacy systems to create scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Provide technical direction across the stack, ensuring consistent, high-quality design and strong engineering practices.
- Champion the use of AI-assisted development, encouraging adoption of automated tools for coding, testing, and workflow management.
- Work closely with product and design teams to ensure cohesive product development.
