The Physician Reviewer will assess the medical necessity of services provided by other healthcare professionals in accordance with client-specific policies, evidence-based guidelines, and accepted standards of care.Major Duties and Responsibilities:Thoroughly review all medical records and address each inquiry from clients using client-specific criteria or other nationally recognized evidence-based guidelines.Ensure that the rationale for each determination is clearly articulated, concise, and supported by sufficient documentation to justify the decision.Critically assess and utilize current criteria and resources, including national, state, and professional association guidelines, as well as peer-reviewed literature, to make informed and objective decisions; avoid reliance on case studies or cohorts with limited sample sizes.Provide copies of the criteria used in the review with the report promptly.Meet deadlines by returning cases by the specified due date and time.Conduct telephone calls as required by state and client specifications.Maintain appropriate credentialing, state licenses, and any special certifications or requirements needed to perform the role.Participate in mandatory orientation and training sessions.Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include responding to quality assurance issues, complaints, regulatory concerns, depositions, court appearances, or audits.Please Note: For the safety and security of both parties, Dane Street will never conduct interviews via text or request candidates to send checks for equipment purchases.
