About the Role
In this pivotal role, you will work closely with our founders to lead a team of exceptional engineers in developing our platform for real-time inference at scale. This presents a unique opportunity to influence the technical architecture and foster an engineering culture within a rapidly growing startup. You will collaborate with a talented group of individuals, including award-winning developers and seasoned quants, all committed to redefining the possibilities in ML inference.
This is an in-office role, with a requirement to be present five days a week. We offer flexibility for unavoidable conflicts, but this is not a hybrid position.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a team of engineers dedicated to building Chalk's innovative data platform.
Collaborate with the founding team to define and implement our technical roadmap.
Establish engineering processes that promote rapid development without compromising quality.
Engage directly with customers to understand their needs and ensure our platform addresses real-world ML challenges.
Shape the engineering culture at Chalk as we expand—your leadership will be vital in nurturing exceptional talent.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
Experience working in an early-stage startup environment.
Proven track record in building production-level ML systems or data infrastructure.
Strong programming skills and a solid understanding of systems architecture.
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire technical teams.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical concepts and business objectives.
A passion for machine learning and a dedication to driving innovation in the field.
