About the Role: As the Engineering Manager at Harmattan AI, you will be a crucial managerial interface between our R&D teams and the leadership. Your focus will be on empowering our engineers and establishing a standard of engineering excellence. This role is designed to alleviate the workload on senior leadership by fostering high-performing teams, enhancing internal tools, and standardizing workflows across the organization without compromising on execution speed. You will serve as a strategic partner to our leadership, contributing to the organizational framework and the long-term technical vision of the company.
Responsibilities:
- People Management & Mentorship: Serve as a committed people manager for engineers, overseeing performance assessments, career development, and training programs.
- Recruitment: Take charge of the recruitment process as a top priority, building and sustaining an effective engineering team to support our ambitious growth objectives.
- Process Standardisation: Create and implement standardized workflows across software and electrical engineering teams to guarantee high-quality outcomes and consistency.
- Internal Tooling: Assess and enhance internal tooling—selecting between off-the-shelf and custom solutions—to ensure engineers have optimal resources for success.
- Organisational Strategy: Participate in structuring the organization by reorganizing teams and initiating changes that optimize cross-functional (XFN) delivery.
- Vision & Execution: Collaborate with leadership to shape the company's vision, contributing innovative ideas rather than merely executing existing strategies.
