The Enterprise Architect is pivotal in defining the long-term architectural vision for our company, ensuring that our systems are scalable, resilient, cost-effective, and equipped with AI functionalities. This position operates at the crossroads of business, data, and technology, converting intricate business requirements into pragmatic, sustainable architectures that facilitate EcoVadis’ growth and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Architecture Strategy & Direction
- Transform business and product strategies into enterprise-wide architectural directions and roadmaps.
- Establish and uphold the target architecture across business, application, data, and technology layers.
- Define and refine the enterprise architecture metamodel and manage the EA repository.
- Evaluate and document existing architectures, identifying gaps, overlaps, and structural risks, while promoting simplification.
- Lead strategic architecture initiatives, including application rationalization and modernization.
- Manage strategic technology risks throughout the organization.
Governance & Decision Support
- Define and uphold architectural principles, standards, and guidelines.
- Scrutinize significant architectural decisions to ensure they align with long-term objectives.
- Support executive decision-making by providing clear trade-offs and options, beyond mere diagrams.
- Oversee the adoption of new tools and platforms within the organization, as well as efforts to retire outdated systems.
- Continuously enhance architecture governance practices to ensure they remain efficient and effective.
Collaboration & Enablement
- Act as a dependable advisor and liaison among business, product, engineering, data, and security stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and Tech Leads to ensure local designs align with enterprise objectives.
- Coordinate with IT and Security teams to ensure architectures align with security strategies and policies.
- Engage in agile, cross-functional teams, providing architectural guidance for specific business domains.
- Transform business, product, and technical requirements into architecture specifications for selected enterprise initiatives.
Data, AI & Emerging Technologies
- Work collaboratively on data architecture, analytics, and data governance models (e.g., data mesh, federated ownership).
- Guide the ethical and responsible adoption of AI/ML and agent-based capabilities across the enterprise.
- Assess emerging technologies and trends through the lens of business value, avoiding hype-driven decisions.
