ABOUT THE ROLE
The Environmental Services and Event Support Assistant is essential in maintaining a clean and organized environment across all museum locations. This role includes performing both standard and specialized cleaning tasks, as well as setting up rooms for events.

FSLA STATUS: On-Call, Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Facilities Operations Assistant Manager
COMPENSATION: $22.76 per hour

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Environmental Services
Execute daily janitorial tasks, including cleaning, dusting, mopping, and polishing various surfaces such as bathroom fixtures, counters, doors, and furniture. Ensure a high standard of cleanliness throughout the facilities.
Restock supplies in restrooms and throughout the museum.
Adhere to all facility standards and procedures while performing cleaning duties.
Provide immediate response to spills, manage environmental remediation, handle hazardous waste disposal, and conduct industrial cleaning as needed.
Collect, transport, and dispose of compost, recycling, and waste materials.
Conduct hard surface floor care, including sweeping, mopping, and maintaining carpets and upholstery through vacuuming and spot cleaning.
Utilize various cleaning equipment effectively, including manual and battery-powered devices, ensuring proper maintenance of cleaning carts and equipment.
Demonstrate proficiency in the safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment, adhering to safety and quality standards.
Regularly inspect work areas, reporting any maintenance needs, including lighting issues and minor damages.
Collaborate with the Security Department to monitor the condition of art and report any irregularities in secured areas.
Assist during severe weather, emergencies, and evacuations.
Perform manual tasks as required, including operating automatic floor scrubbers and other maintenance equipment.
Monitor supplies and communicate needs to the supervisor.
