The Environmental Test Engineer Associate role in San Francisco is a salaried, twelve-week position for Fall 2026. This opportunity is open to those who have completed a bachelor’s degree or expect to do so before the start date. Associates take on meaningful projects, often handling responsibilities similar to those of full-time engineers. Many past associates have contributed to hardware and software now flying on Astranis satellites, with several moving into full-time roles after the program.
What you will do
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to design, build, and test satellite hardware and software.
- Set up and operate environmental test equipment, including:
- Ambient thermal chambers
- Thermal Vacuum Chambers (TVAC)
- Vibration shaker tables
- EMI/EMC test equipment
- Develop hands-on skills with testing instruments such as thermal chambers, vibration tables, data acquisition systems (DAQs), and oscilloscopes to execute test plans.
- Carry out environmental testing, including vibration, acoustics, and thermal analysis.
Requirements

- Interest in satellite hardware and software testing
- Willingness to work onsite in San Francisco
