Position Overview

As a Level 3 Automotive Technician at the National Vehicle Distribution (NVD) Southampton Workshop, you will work within our Vehicle Preparation Centre (VPC). This role distinguishes itself from traditional retail garages, focusing on the meticulous preparation and technical rectification of high volumes of new vehicles (including renowned brands such as BYD, Maxus, and Omoda) before they reach dealerships, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality.


Key Duties

  • Advanced Diagnostics & Rectification: Leverage computerized diagnostic tools to pinpoint and address intricate mechanical and electrical issues, particularly for vehicles that do not pass their initial Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI).

  • PDI & Technical Campaigns: Conduct thorough inspections, execute safety recalls, and manage manufacturer-led software or hardware campaigns.

  • Specialized Technical Operations: Perform ADAS Calibration (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), EV battery replacements, and 4-wheel alignments utilizing advanced workshop equipment.

  • Operational Excellence: Implement Lean methodologies (e.g., 5S) and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to guarantee consistent quality and efficiency in high-volume environments.

  • Team Leadership: Guide junior technicians or apprentices and coordinate small teams to achieve
