Role Overview
The Offshore Crane Operator Maintainer supports deck operations on client platforms, following EnerMech protocols. This role requires a strong focus on safety, leadership, and ongoing improvement in crane, lifting, and support activities.
Main Responsibilities
- Operate platform pedestal and overhead gantry cranes safely, following instructions from designated platform personnel and strictly observing manufacturer and operational guidelines.
- Respond only to signals from the Rigger or appointed Signaler, but remain ready to act on Emergency Stop Signals from any on-site personnel in emergencies.
- Complete daily pre-operational crane inspections using a standard checklist.
- Report any defects found during operations to the crane supervisor without delay.
- Verify that the rated capacity limiter and indicator are working correctly.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on all offshore pedestal and overhead cranes at intervals up to six months to maintain safety standards.
- Keep cranes clean and orderly, including cabs and machinery housings.
- Carry out Platform Emergency Duties as directed by designated personnel.
- Maintain an accurate logbook of crane operations.
- Operate overhead cranes under the supervision of authorized site personnel, following approved instructions and site procedures.
- Conduct daily routine checks on overhead cranes according to maintenance protocols and pre-start checklists.
- Inspect the job site to ensure adherence to safety practices, contribute to crane group safety quality, and participate in site safety reviews such as Near Miss Reporting and STOP cards.
- Provide detailed incident reports related to crane operations to the Crane Supervisor.
