This senior individual contributor position (IC5) is available in Amsterdam, Dublin, Helsinki HQ, or the United Kingdom. Role overview
The Principal Digital Experience Engineer sets technical direction, defines engineering standards, and ensures the website supports measurable business outcomes. While hands-on coding may occasionally be needed, the focus centers on strategic oversight, technical governance, and influencing both internal teams and external partners. Shaping the site’s architecture and development approach, this role impacts every campaign and user journey.

Main responsibilities
- Set the technical strategy for the marketing website, making decisions on platform, stack, infrastructure, and architecture at an organizational level.
- Oversee website development and redesigns from concept to launch. Define technical requirements, establish engineering benchmarks, supervise delivery, and ensure alignment with performance, accessibility, and brand standards.
- Build a foundation for conversion optimization and experimentation. Architect the site to support A/B testing, personalization, and rapid iteration, enabling the growth team to move quickly (without directly running tests).
- Monitor site performance, Core Web Vitals, uptime, and technical SEO health. Document and implement performance approaches that become company standards.
- Define the website data layer. Set up event architecture and tracking protocols that support the broader BI strategy, collaborating with Data Architects and Analysts.
- Design content infrastructure in Sanity. Create content models, reusable components, and ingestion pipelines to enable a "Create Once, Publish Everywhere" approach.
- Develop an AI strategy for the website. Evaluate and recommend AI-driven personalization, dynamic content, conversational interfaces, and intelligent search to improve user experience.
